She completed the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee’s comprehensive Lymphedema Certificate program, along with two additional general MLD courses—including training that incorporated Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization tools.

Tarja Anchor, CMMP, is a medical massage and lymphatic drainage practitioner committed to providing thoughtful, individualized care for clients experiencing swelling, tissue restriction, discomfort, and mobility and recovery challenges.
Tarja completed the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee’s comprehensive Lymphedema Certificate program. This advanced, hands-on education included Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT), compression bandaging, lymphatic anatomy and physiology, skin care, therapeutic exercise, client evaluation, compression garments, pneumatic pumps, and self-management education.
The program also addressed specialized approaches for breast, head and neck, truncal, genital, and other complex presentations of edema. Approximately two-thirds of the training focused on supervised hands-on practice, clinical case discussions, competency assessment, and practical skill development.
In addition to her university-level lymphedema education, Tarja has completed two additional courses in general Manual Lymphatic Drainage. One of these courses incorporated Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) tools, expanding her ability to address soft-tissue restrictions while supporting healthy lymphatic flow.
Tarja brings together lymphatic techniques, medical massage, soft-tissue mobilization, and client education to create sessions based on each person’s health history, symptoms, comfort, and goals. Her approach is careful, compassionate, and grounded in professional training. When a condition requires medical evaluation or treatment outside her professional scope, she encourages clients to work with their physician or other qualified healthcare provider.
